Getting it Right: Aiming for Best Practice in Leadership Programs
Date: Thursday 24 February 2011 Time: 9.00am - 2.00pm Where: MCWH
What will participants learn by attending this Seminar?
The first MCWH Seminar for 2011 is an opportunity to share experiences and strategies in the development of leadership capacity-building programs for immigrant and refugee women. The seminar will explore the use of human rights, feminist, and multicultural principles, as they relate to the different phases in the development of leadership programs. The MCWH PACE (Participate, Communicate, Advocate and Engage) Project will be discussed and participants will receive a copy of the PACE Best Practice Guide. The seminar will highlight the significance of cultural competency in the delivery of effective leadership programs for immigrant and refugee women.
Who will benefit from participating in this Seminar?
Health and allied professionals, welfare and community development workers, social workers, teachers, students and those with an interest in the health and wellbeing of immigrant and refugee women.
